Q. Will discount companies do the same job as the companies that charge a much higher cost?
Answer:
Let’s first start with the word “discount” in the question. There isn’t a discount when a company offers a lower cost. This is misinformation usually put out by the companies that charge a much higher cost. Let’s me be very clear. There are no set fees, or commissions, in Real Estate!!! Nothing is being discounted!!!
As for different companies doing the same job, that depends on the individual agent. I’ve worked with different agents from the same company. Most did a great job, but some did very poor job. This is why it’s very important to interview several agents. You want to compare their marketing plans (click – compare brokers). Also, make sure you get the verbal agreements in writing put into the Listing Agreement. If the agent is unwilling to add the verb itch to the contract, direct the agent to your front door.
There are number of companies unwilling to compete in today’s market. They have resourced to negative campaign to any company offering less than six percent commission to sellers. Some have gone so as to try to have the laws change to their benefit, therefore limiting the choices for sellers. The following CBS news report “Hi-Tech Real Estate Moves In” states it best. I highly recommend viewing the footage prior to interviewing different agents.
